Career advice to those in your industry?
Find something to love – whether it be a person you are doing the work for, the cause/effort of your work, or your work in general. Finding this passion gives you the power to wake up and fill your heart to impact yourself and others. It truly provides that feeling of fulfillment and joy.
What do you love most about Your City?
There’s so much to love about New York. I love the diversity of this city — from the many languages spoken to the various distinct neighborhoods to the amazing architecture— New York fills your senses with diversity and excitement. There is always something new to do, to explore and to learn.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
My favorite meal of the day is actually dinner! While I love a homecooked meal with my family most, the avocado toast at Irvington Restaurant in the W Hotel in Union Square is a close second for breakfast.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – If I’m not traveling, I’m usually commuting to work by 6am most mornings.
10:00 AM – One thing I love about my job is the diversity – no day is the same. While I could be in meetings in the office, I could also be meeting with supporters at a UNICEF USA regional office or visiting our programs in the field, as UNICEF works in more than 150 countries around the globe. Seeing that work is always so inspiring – our colleagues are truly champions for children and I value any time I get to spend seeing this work firsthand.
12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
I am embarrassed to admit it, but I eat lunch at my desk most days, in between meetings or calls. If I’m able to go out uptown, I like “Michael’s” or “Fred’s” on the West or “Due” on the East side.
7:00 PM - If I don’t have an evening event, I’ll be getting home around this time and starting to prepare dinner. I love cooking and sitting down at the table with my husband and children or friends.
11:00 PM – I’ll typically be watching the news and going to be bed around this time, while thinking through the next day ahead.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
I need black tea with milk – I have at least 4 or 5 cups a day. I usually also have a non-fat latte around 4pm.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
I use Waze all the time — from finding the fastest route to commute each day to getting around easily when I travel. While I’m slowly getting more into Instagram, I like to follow those who use their platforms and voices to support UNICEFs work, from our Ambassadors to field workers and more. I can’t pick just one!
What should everyone try at least once?
Falling in love, having the experience of truly opening up to someone else. And, traveling outside of your comfort zone. We learn the most when we’re able to meet new people and have new experiences.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
I enjoy getting lost in any place there is artwork (I have a background in art), or spice markets (so many fantastic sights and smells) or mountains (I love fresh air and solitude).
